Madora “Rosie” Stinson Payton

Madora “Rosie” Stinson Payton, 80, of Holly Springs, died Dec. 22, 2017, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was a former member of St. Paul CME Church, a member of the Homemakers Club, a retired chef and caterer.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 30 at Hernando Road Church of Christ, where she was a member. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Bro. Raphelle Hubbard officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves five daughters, Sandra Ambrose of Fayetteville, N.C., Claudette Johnson, Wanda Payton-McNeil, Pamela McNeil, all of Holly Springs, Joan Cole of Memphis, Tenn.; three sons, Carl Payton of Fayetteville, William Payton of Holly Springs, Eric Payton of Arlington, Texas; three sisters, Doris Beard, Betty Robbin, Nellene Rhodes, all of Fayetteville; 29 grandchildren,46 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Holloway, sons Sammie and Terrell Payton and a brother, Lawrence “PeeWee” Stinson.
