Lula Mae McGowan Pegues

Lula Mae McGowan Pegues, 89, of Holly Springs, died December 10, 2021, at Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis, Tenn. She was a member of Anderson Chapel CME Church where she served as a church usher. She was a retired inspector for Mulay Plastics of Holly Springs.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Dec. 15 from 4-6 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 16 at Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. William S. Banks will officiate.

She leaves her husband, Gary Pegues; three daughters, Royetta Bennett of Jackson, Ardelia Robinson of Waterford, Sandra Brooks of McCulla, Ala.; two sons, Lee Henry Pegues, Gary L. Pegues, both of Holly Springs; two sisters, Evelyn Tucker of Detroit, Mich., Marjean Smith of Raliegh, Tenn.; 21 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by children, Queen Commons, Edna Beard, Jessie Jones; siblings, Willie L. McGowan Jr., Walker Bowen McGowan, Franklin McGowan, Ella Mary Tuggle and Armetta Honor.
