Lue City Watson Echols

Lue City Watson Echols, 90, of Red Banks, died February 5, 2024, at her home in the Mt. Pleasant community. She was a member of Berachah Ministries Church of God in Christ, where she served on the mother's board and was a church missionary. She was an evangelist and a member of Deuteronomy 28 Women's Group. She was retired from Pace Corporation in Memphis, Tenn.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Feb. 16 from 2:30-5:30 p.m. and on Feb. 17 at Berachah Ministries COGIC from 10-10:55 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Rev. Keith Paul King will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She leaves her daughters, Joy Zella Echols of Byhalia, Wanda Fay Faulkner of Los Angeles, Calif., Sarah Smith of Las Vegas, Nev., Miracle Martin of Red Banks; sister, Christine Davis of Holly Springs; brothers, Quincy Todd of Mt. Pleasant, Oscar Earl Wells of Holly Springs; 25 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Lee Echols; children, Lawrence Echols Jr., Pamela Holt, Brenda Kay Echols-Moore; siblings, Anna Mae Watson, Hattie Bell Echols, Oscar D. Watson, Versie Sumlar, and Gloria Lovett.
