Louis "Valley" Evelyn Jefferson

Louis "Valley" Evelyn Jefferson, 83, of Red Banks, died Sept. 3, 2020, at Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven. The widow of Lee Willie Jefferson, she was a member of Mt. Newell MB Church where she served as youth choir chairman, usher board member, pastor's aide, choir member and president. She worked at Byhalia School cafeteria for 28 years.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 9 at Mt. Newell Memorial Gardens in Red Banks. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her four sons, Sesley Jefferson (Lois), Vince E. Jefferson, both of Red Banks, Wayne R. Jefferson of Byhalia, Willie L. Jefferson of Holly Springs; four daughters, Gail Scales of Red Banks, Carolyn Hardaway (Roosevelt), Alexus Jefferson, both of Holly Springs, Stephanie Blake of Olive Branch; two brothers, Oscar Kinkle (Dorothy) of Holly Springs, Robert Kinkle of Maywood, Ill.; two sisters, Earlis Mack of Youngstown, Ohio, Jeanette Barksdale (Dean) of Holly Springs; 29 grandchildren, 57 greatgrandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Shelden and Goffery Jefferson; one sister, Olivia Bobo; four brothers, Oscar Aldridge, John, Cidell and Odell Kinkle.
