Lorenzo Turnage

Lorenzo Turnage, 77, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Waterford, died June 10, 2019, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. He was a member of Morning Star Church of God in Christ in Memphis, where he served on the Deacon Board. He retired as a cook for Dobbs House in 2004.

Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. on June 20 at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home; and from 99:55 a.m. on June 21 at Morning Star COGIC, 3161 Park Ave., Memphis. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Bishop W.A. Sesley will officiate. Burial will be in Wilkins Chapel CME Church Cemetery in Waterford.

He leaves his wife, Vernice Curry Turnage; a daughter, Jannifer Strickland of Memphis; four sisters, Arlene Byers of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Atlean Hamilton of Chicago, Ill., Morease Courtney of Maryland, Juanita Jennings of Ft. Wayne; four brothers, Jimmy Turnage of Maryland, Ivory Turnage of Jonesboro, Ark., Irvin Turnage of Memphis, Adolph Turnage of Ft. Wayne; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tonya L. Turnage.
