Lonnie Bolden

Lonnie Bolden, 86, of Holly Springs, died April 7, 2018. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a Marshall County constable, farmer and beef cattle producer until his retirement in 1986. He was active in the Mississippi Farm Bureau Association where he served on the state board for 16 years and he was president of the county bureau for several years. He also served as county election commissioner.

Services were held at 12 noon on April 11 at First Baptist Church in Potts Camp, where he was a member. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife of 65 years, Wilma Burchette Bolden; five children, Leslie Bolden (Susan) of Conway, Ark., Gloria Fortner (Jimmy) of Ashland, Roger Bolden (Lisa), Daniel Bolden, all of Holly Springs, Amy McMullen (Mark) of Heber Springs, Ark.; siblings, Ransom Bolden (Judy) of Ashland, Dot Allen (Herbert) of Moscow, Tenn., Betty Carpenter of Independence, Corrine Bloor (Lloyd) of Moscow, Diane Marshall (Bill) of  Memphis, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother John Frank Bolden and a great-grandson, Taylor Bolden.
