Ljames Hampton

Ljames Hampton, 61, of Lamar, died June 6, 2017, at his home.  He worked at Biltrite Corp. for over 30 years, until he retired in 2001.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on June 17 at Samuel Chapel MB Church in Ashland, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Stephen Hoyle officiated. Serenity-Autry Funeral  Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Vera D. Hampton; three daughters, Cartina Hampton (JT) of Southaven, Tara Hampton (Payton) of Lamar, Trenise Hampton of Griffin, Ga.; two sons, Torrice Hampton (Ladale), Sedrick Hampton, both of Lamar; five brothers, Johnny L. Hampton, Walter L. Hampton (Ethel), Willie E. Hampton (Geneva), John Henry Spencer, Lonnie Spencer; two sisters, Brenda Brown (Terry), Cindy Ayers; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Spencer.
