Leroy Wilson Jr.

Leroy Wilson Jr., 76, of Holly Springs, died January 8, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus. He was a member of Yarbrough Chapel CME Church, former member of Wilkins Chapel CME Church where he served as church steward and chairman of the cemetery committee. He was a member of Waterford Masonic Lodge #450 and a retired inspector with the Mississippi Department of Transportation.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Jan. 21 from 12-3 p.m. and on Jan. 22 at Yarbrough Chapel CME Church from 10-10:55 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Rev. Willie E. Hoey will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He leaves his daughters, Michelle Wilson of Cordova, Tenn., Ada Wilson-Al-Tariq, Tomeko Wilson, both of Holly Springs; son, Demetrius Wilson of Memphis; two stepdaughters, Tammy Shelton Scruggs of Memphis, Shereese Shelton Harper of Ashland; sister, Anna Robinson of Chicago, Ill.; brother, Lennon Wilson Sr. of Holly Springs; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Willie Mae Falkner of Byhalia.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Arnetta Thomas, Leola Carter, Tommy Lee Wilson, and Lonzo Wilson.
