Leon Charles Spight

Leon Charles Spight, 80, of Holly Springs, died June 23, 2017, at his home. The widower of Phyllis Spight, he was vice president of the usher board at his church and the kitchen committee. He was a retired self-employed farmer.

Visitation will be July 1 from noon until 5 p.m. at the funeral home and on July 2 from 1-1:55 p.m. at the church.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on July 2 at Isom Chapel CME Church, where he was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Michael Adams will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

He leaves two sons, Lee Edward Spight, Paul L. Spight, both of Cordova, Tenn.; three daughters, Patricia Spight Mitchell of Cordova, Vanessa Spight Ramsey of Durham, N.C., Marcie Spight Tobin of Iowa City, Iowa; his mother, Annie E. Jones Spight of Holly Springs; two sisters, Delorise Jones of Memphis, Tenn., Sandra Overshown of Boston, Mass.; two brothers, Alex Spight Jr. of Lilburn, Ga., Brankley Spight of Holly Springs; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Rickey Spight Sr., two brothers, Levern Spight, Raymond Spight, and three sisters, Arnora Marshall, Evia D. Spight and Maenvia Spight.
