Lennie L. Smith Sykes

Lennie L. Smith Sykes, 76, of Olive Branch, formerly of Holly Springs, died December 15, 2025, at Collierville Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was a member of Yarbrough Chapel CME Church and a retired administrator for Detroit Public Schools.

A memorial services will be held at New Dimension Salt and Light Ministries on Jan. 3, 2026, at 11 a.m. Rev. J.W. Smith Jr. will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her husband, Larry Sykes; daughter, Lyndsey Nicole Carswell of Atlanta, Ga.; son, Anthony Sykes of Detroit, Mich.; sisters, Stella Hall of Holly Springs, Judy Smith of Memphis, Tenn.; brother, Gaston Smith of Holly Springs; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Lem Johnson Smith Jr.; sisters, Betty Arnold, Annie Payne, Beauty Smith and Lydia Smith.
