Lela Gatewood Bryson

Lela Gatewood Bryson, 87, of Lamar, died Nov. 3, 2020, at Alliance HealthCare System in Holly Springs. The widow of Richard Bryson, she was a member of Kimbrough Chapel MB Church where she served as a church usher, Sunday school teacher and president of the mothers' board. She was a retired factory worker for Hart's Manufacturing in Collierville, Tenn.

Graveside services were held at 12 noon on Nov. 8 at Kimbrough Chapel MB Church Cemetery. Minister Mark Bryson officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves a daughter, Fannie Echols of Lamar; three sons, Walker Bryson, Rickey Bryson, both of Lamar, Jeffery Bryson of Red Banks; three sisters, Ida Miller of Carbondale, Ill., Constance Melton of Detroit, Mich., Marie Hill of Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, Jessie Gatewood of Memphis; 28 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Alvin Bryson, Willie Bryson and Cornell Bryson.
