Leaner Mae Shipp

Leaner Mae Shipp, 64, of Byhalia, died August 11, 2019, at North Delta Hospice House in Southaven. She was a member of Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church in Victoria and a graduate of Byhalia High School. She was an assistant teacher at Byhalia Middle and Elementary Schools.

Visitation will be held on August 15 from 2-6 p.m. at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home; and on August 16 from 10-10:55 a.m. at Taylor Chapel UMC. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Pastor Keith Mason will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She leaves five sisters, Bessie Dean Ellis, Mattie L. Shipp, Mary L. Young, all of Byhalia, Susie P. Brown of Victoria, Rubie L. Nelson of Riverdale, Ill.; one brother, David Jean Shipp of Memphis, Tenn.; and a niece who was also her caregiver, Melissa Bowles of Byhalia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Suienna Strickland Shipp.
