Lawrence Wilburn

Lawrence Wilburn, 97, of Michigan City, died Jan. 10, 2020, at Methodist Hospital in Germantown, Tenn. The widower of Rena Wilburn, he was a member of Early Grove Methodist Church, a farmer and a World War II Army Veteran. He served in Belguim and France in 1944 and 1945 and was the oldest living WWII vet in Benton County.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 13 at Early Grove Methodist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.

He leaves three sons, Lawrence Wilburn Jr. (Vickie) of Adamsville, Tenn., Wayne Wilburn (Kathy) of the Hopewell Community, Alfred Wilburn of Michigan City; two daughters, Linda Gatewood (Jerry) of Middleton, Tenn., Bonnie Copeland (Johnny) of Pickwick Lake, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, 17 greatgrandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
