Laura Frances Strickland

Laura Frances Strickland, 85, of Lamar, died August 1, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She was a member of Samuel Chapel MB Church in Ashland where she served on the mother board and sang in the choir. The was a retired teacher at ICS Head Start in Benton County.

Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Aug. 8 from 5-7 p.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 9 at Samuel Chapel MB Church with burial in the church cemetery.

She leaves her daughters, Betty Jackson Sellers (Bernard) of Chicago, Ill., Donna Jackson of Memphis, Tenn., Francine Strickland Hodges of Lamar; brother, James E. Jackson of Lamar; sister, Ruthie L. Jackson of Chicago; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie B. Strickland; daughter, Pearlie Jackson Swann; brothers, Henry T. Jackson and William A. Jackson.
