Larry Marvell Hughes

Larry Marvell Hughes, 60, of Byhalia, died Sept. 11, 2017, at Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven. He was a disabled grocery stocker at Carlisle’s Big Star.

Services were held at 12 noon on Sept. 18 at St. Matthews MB Church in Byhalia, where he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pastor Gregory Hughes officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves two children, Vincent Hughes of Byhalia, Rachael Anukam of Holly Springs; six sisters, Cora Jones, Lillie Hughes-Spight, both of Byhalia, Bunnie McGee of Rose Hill, Johnnie Ingram, Deborah Scales, both of Holly Springs, Veanna Taylor of Norcross, Ga.; three brothers, Fred Hughes of Willoughby, Ohio, Robert Hughes of Holly Springs; Leroy Hughes of Byhalia; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Tommie Hughes, David Hughes, William Hughes, Eddie Hughes, Jessie Hughes, and Vincent Hughes.
