Lafayette T. Anderson

Lafayette T. Anderson was born May 23, 1937. He passed away peacefully at his home in Mt. Pleasant on February 16, 2024.

“Fayette” was a retired Memphis firefighter after 30 years of service.

In his early life he enjoyed coaching baseball. He had a love for gospel music, going to church and traveling.

He loved his family dearly. Fayette was preceded in death by his mother, Lelia McDougle Anderson; father, Douglas Anderson; and a son, Tim Anderson.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; sister, Dorothy Langston; son, Kevin (Stephanie); daughter, Kathy; stepsons, Richie (Christy), Brett; grandkids, Brandon, Candice, Wayne, Michelle, Nancy Beth, Justin (Paige), Logan, Olivia; step-grandkids, Hunter (Kayla), Andrew, Carson, Kaitlyn, Conner; and 15 great-grandkids.

Funeral services were held on Sun., Feb. 18, 2024, at Bridgeway Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant. Burial was at Carey Chapel Cemetery.
