Kenneth Guffey
Kenneth Guffey, 82, of Mt. Pleasant, died Aug. 26, 2018, at Galloway, Tenn. An Army veteran, he was a professor of business administration at state and technical institutes. He graduated from Arkansas State University with a 4.0 and received his master’s from the University of Memphis. He was the faculty advisor for the Alpha Beta Gamma Honor Society and also worked in the banking industry. He was a Sunday school teacher and deacon for over 35 years.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Aug. 30 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
He leaves his wife, Betty Marsearu Wilmoth Guffey; a son, Kenny Guffey II (Barbara) of Olive Branch; two daughters, Sabrina McBride (Gary) of Millington, Tenn., Shanon Moore (Ron) of Elgin, Ill.; a sister, Marcita Etheridge of Weiner, Ark.; six granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Scott Guffey.
