Karen Mackie Tate

Karen Mackie Tate, 77, of Senatobia, MS, passed away January 7, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Desoto.

Karen loved spending time with her family and watching her grandsons play sports. She was an animal lover who had a heart for rescue. Her constant companions were her dogs Tux and Blanca.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Danny St. John; her second husband, Robert Tate; her parents, James Montgomery Mackie Sr. and Kathrynn Rutledge Mackie; and brother-in-law, Tom Jones.

Karen is survived by her son, Erik St. John (Brianne); sister, Jamie Jones; brother, James "Mack" Mackie (Vicki); grandchildren, Langston and Mason St. John; and her two special dogs, Tux and Blanca.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorial donations be made to The Champion Farm in Holly Springs, MS https://www.thechampionfarm.com/. Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 17, from 10 a.m.-a.m. at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia with services beginning at 11 a.m. A private burial will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery in Holly Springs.
