June West Wetzel

June West Wetzel, recent transplant to Holly Springs from Panama City Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully at home holding the hands of her daughter and husband, on Saturday, March 30. June was a member of Gulfview United Methodist Church of Panama City Beach where she was actively involved with United Methodist Women with her emphasis being on Milton Children's Home. She was the first female disc jockey in Birmingham, Ala., where she worked as Miss Midnight at WSGN. She was a professional model for 20 years, owned her own modeling school and taught modeling for many years. She recorded commercials in the Birmingham area for 40 years.

She is survived by her husband, Keith, of 40 years; her daughter, Kathy West Clanton (Bobby) of Holly Springs; three grandchildren, Barrett (Bronwyn) of Holly Springs, Olivia Clanton Nobile (Will) of Indianola, Callie Clanton Frank (Trey) of Holly Springs; and six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements will be handled through Holly Springs Funeral Home with a graveside service Wednesday, April 3, at noon at Hill Crest Cemetery.
