Johnnye Mae Harris Pass

Johnnye Mae Harris Pass, 81, of Holly Springs, died June 4, 2017, at her home. She was a member of Christ Temple COGIC, and worked for the Mississippi State Home Extension Service for 30 years, retiring as the home economist in November, 1990. She retired from Marshall County 4-H in December, 1990. She received her master’s from Mississippi University for Women, was president of the National Council of Negro Women, an executive with the hospitality department, Northern Misissippi Jurisdiction, received the Bishop’s Award at Headquarter Jurisdiction, Missionary of the Year for 2010 and the Women of Excellence Award in 2010.

Visitation will be held June 16 from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home, and at the church from 6-8 p.m., and on June 17 from 10-10:55 a.m. at Rust College.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., June 17 at the W.A. McMillan Multi-Purpose Center on the Rust College campus. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Bishop T.T. Scott will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

She leaves her husband, Dr. Albert G. Pass; five daughters, Sharon Ivy, Karon Parker, Albertina Everhart, Faith Bass, all of Holly Springs, Jeryl Jones of Red Banks; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
