Johnny Lee "Jug" Tidwell

Johnny Lee "Jug" Tidwell, 66, of Holly Springs, died Mar. 4, 2021, at Methodist Olive Branch Hospital. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of Ralph Wallers Tough Street Band who played in the Holly Springs Blues Alley Series. He was a sanitation worker for Marshall County.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Mar. 13 from 3-5 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Mar. 14 at Chulahoma MB Church Cemetery. Pastor Michael Johnson will officiate.

He leaves two daughters, Kawana Tidwell, Nikeeta Tidwell, both of Nashville, Tenn.; one son, Melvin Pegues of Aurora, Ill.; mother, Catherine James Tidwell of Holly Springs; four sisters, Bernice Anderson of Aurora, Willie Mae Alshadly, Ora Nolan, Sandra Pinson, all of Holly Springs; and two grandchildren.

He was preceeded in death by two brothers, S.T. Tidwell Jr. and Willie L. "Cete" Tidwell.
