Johnny Earl Stanton
Johnny Earl Stanton, 72, of Potts Camp, died Mar. 12, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County in New Albany. He was a member of Temperance Hill Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran. He was retired from the U.S. Forest Service and the Benton County Sheriff's Department.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Mar. 15 at Temperance Hill Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife of 36 years, Wanda Stanton; two sons, Doug Stanton (Marcella) of Hernando, Brian Stanton of Corinth; one daughter, Stephanie Stanton Smith of Senatobia; two stepsons, Scott Mansel (Jennifer), Neil Mansel (Paula), both of Hickory Flat; three sisters, Joyce Clifton of Potts Camp, Irene Pipkin, Rachel Vanzant, both of Hickory Flat; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Stanton; and one sister, Bernice Lemons.
