John Wesley Jones

John Wesley Jones, 79, of Lamar, died April 8, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East in Memphis, Tenn. He was a member of New Stinson Community Church in Rossville, Tenn. where he served as a deacon.

Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on April 18 from 4-6 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on April 19 at Concord MB Church in Lamar. Burial will be in New Stinson Community Church Cemetery in Rossville.

He leaves his wife, Sarah Henderson Jones; son, Fredrick Henderson (Latasha) of Chicago, Ill.; daughter, LaToya Williams of Chicago; brothers, Oscar Lee Jones (Alice) of Memphis, Walter Jones (Mattie) of Chicago, Napoleon Jones of Mt. Pleasant; sisters, Mary Emma Jones, Florence Lockett (Calvin), Carolyn Jones, Ada Hunt (Calvin), all of Memphis; and two grandchildren.
