John Lewis Elliott

John Lewis Elliott, 81, of Ashland, died Jan. 2, 2018, at Baptist Hospital in New Albany. He retired in 2012 as a truck driver for Big M Trucking in Blue Mountain. He was a member of South Ashland Church of Christ.

Services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 6 at Ashland Church of Christ, with Bro. William Colburn officiating. Burial was in South Ashland Church of Christ Cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Dorothy L. Davis Elliott; two children, Debra Elliott of Ashland, Tommy Lewis  Elliott of Charleston, S.C.; two sisters, Pearley Buggs of Michigan City, Burlean Leatherwood of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, T.C. Elliott of Memphis; four grandchilden and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lewis Elliott; and eight siblings, Jennie Porter, Carrie Beard, Donnie Beard, Lacy Collins, Ollie Wilson, William Elliott, Jerry Elliott and Terry Elliott.
