John Leroy Miles

John Leroy Miles, 63, of Byhalia, Miss., passed away with his beloved cats, Bubba and Shadow, at his side on September 14, 2025.

He was an honest, brave man who became a truck driver at the age of 17 and loved cutting grass in his spare time.

He leaves behind his only child, Heather Gammel, a son in love, Will Gammel; and his cherished granddaughter, Rylynn.

He is survived by his sisters Debbie Mason (Terry), Cindy Anderson (Ron) and Chris Ball (Mike).

He is preceded in death by his mother Lona Faye Miles and his father, John A. Miles Jr.

A celebration of life will be held on his birthday, October 17th at his home. John gave in death as he gave in life and selflessly donated himself to the Genesis Whole Body Donation Program. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, any donations be made to MERI: Medical Education and Research Institute.
