John Hayes Hardee, 75, of Collierville, Tenn., died March 7, 2017, at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville. The widower of Mary Smith Hardee, he was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years. He retired as a Master Sergeant. He retired from FedEx after an additional 20 years. He was a member of Christ Community Baptist Church in Collierville and was a 3rd Degree Mason.

Services were held at 3 p.m. on March 10 at Peebles West Funeral Chapel in Oakland, Tenn., with burial with full military honors in Fayette County Memorial Park. Pastor Greg Spears officiated.

He leaves four daughters, Pamela Papas of Shrewsbury, Penn., Barbara Wilson (Jim) of Collierville, Terry “Theresa”  Bennett (Forrest) of Collierville, Janice Dearen (Thomas) of Drummonds, Tenn.; a son, Glen Hardee (Rhonda) of New Hill, N.C.; his sister, Marjorie Troiano of Baltimore, MD.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Rider.
