John Earl Stephens

John Earl Stephens, 68, of Memphis, Tenn., died Nov. 20, 2020, at his home. He was a member of Kimbrough Chapel MB Church in Hudsonville, where he served as a deacon, presided over audio/video department and was in the male chorus. He was a retired mixer for Klinke Brothers Ice Cream in Memphis and a U.S. Navy veteran.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Nov. 27 from 4-7 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 28 at Hudsonville CME Church Cemetery. Rev. J.W. Smith Jr. will officiate.

He leaves his wife, Mae Ellen Jones Stephens; daughter, Tametra Stephens of Memphis; two sons, Kelvin Stephens, Johnathan Stephens, both of Memphis; two sisters, Aggie Dowdy, Emildred Jenkins, both of Memphis; six brothers, Richard Stephens of Ada, Okla., James Sherman, Harvey Sherman Jr., both of Memphis, Curlen Crump of Texas, Pastor Darrell Levy of West Memphis, Ark., Gerald Rogers of Fla.; and six grandchildren.
