Joe Weideman Armour Sr.

Joe Weideman Armour Sr., 93, of Byhalia, died Oct. 5, 2017, at his home in the Cayce community, where he was born and lived his entire life. The widower of Betty Lanier Armour and Virginia Rickman Armour, he was a dairy farmer and milk hauler. He was a founding member of Cayce Baptist Church and was instrumental in starting the Cayce Vol. Fire Dept. and the New Salem Cemetery Corp.

Services were held at 3 p.m. on Oct. 8 at Collierville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in New Salem Cemetery.

He leaves two daughters, Betsy Armour Gumpert (Al), Sarah Armour Harris (Richard); a son, Joe Weideman Armour Jr. (Lynn); a stepson, David Rickman (Teresa); a sister, Elner Armour Rainey; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his caregivers, Elmo Kinkle and Claudette Bogard.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, John Rickman; two brothers, Robert Lynn Armour, Billy Farris Armour; and a sister, Ann Armour Richmond.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cayce Baptist Church, New Salem Cemetery Corp. or Cayce Fire Dept.
