Joe Murray Jones

Joe Murray Jones, 69, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Byhalia, died Oct. 30, 2016, at Methodist University Hospital. He was a member of Eason Grove MB Church in Byhalia, where he was a church deacon. He was a member of Grand Master Masonic Lodge #45 and a maintenance supervisor at ADM (Archer Daniels Midland Co.).

Visitation will be at the funeral home Nov. 4 from 2-7 p.m. and with family from 6-7 p.m.; and at the church, Nov. 5, from 1:30 to 2:25 p.m.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 5 at St. Matthews MB Church. Burial will be in the church cemetary. Rev. Lawrence Cole will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Claudette McKinnon-Jones; four children, Wanda Griffin, Dwight Beard, Steve Beard, Ronnie Beard, all of Memphis; three brothers, Eddie Jones, Lee Seals, both of Byhalia, Marion Seals of New York, N.Y.; six sisters, Louise Clark, Jewel Ann Cook, both of Albany, N.Y., Earline Bethel of Los Angeles, Calif., Gladys Reed of Red Banks, Ida Mae Townsend of Indianapolis, Ind.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two children, Dexter Jones and Derek N. Beard; and two siblings, Jessie and Elliott Seals.
