Jimmy D. Cathey, 56, of Myrtle, died April 25, 2025. He atttended Royston Chapel CME Church.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on May 10 at Serenity Funeral Home in New Albany. Burial was in Royston Chapel CME Church Cemetery in Potts Camp.
He leaves his wife, Mary Joyce Cathey; daughter, Amandy V. Martin; sisters, Mary L. Evans (CW) of Ashland, Mattie Woods (Keith) of New Albany, Bobbie Martin of Blue Mountain, Leigh Cathey of Huntsville, Ala.; brothers, Wendell Cathey (Paula) of Leavenworth, Kan., Robert Cathey of Ashland; stepmother, Verdia Cathey of Ashland; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence H. Cathey Jr. and Lovie Holt Cathey; brothers, Percy L. Holt and Eddie W. Cathey.
