Jessie Mae Epps

Jessie Mae Epps, 99, of Chicago, Ill., formerly of Michigan City, died July 16, 2019, at University of Illinois in Chicago. The widow of Curtis Epps, she was a former member of Sims Chapel MB Church in Michigan City where she served as church secretary, church usher, and was on the mother board. She was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Chicago. She was a retired home healthcare provider.

Services were held at 12 noon on July 26 at Sims Chapel MB Church. Rev. Ronnie Franklin officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves a daughter, Lotrey E. (James) Cole of Chicago; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and eight greatgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Autrey L. Epps.
