Jessie Bell Venney Hudson

Jessie Bell Venney Hudson, 77, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Lamar, died July 17, 2017, at Methodist South Hospital in Memphis. She was a housekeeper at Bally’s Hotel and Casino in Robinsonville, a church usher and on the mother’s board.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on July 22 at Foundation of Life Christian Learning Center, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. James T. Patterson officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

 She leaves her husband, Eddie B. Hudson; eight daughters, Carolyn Martin, Diane Evans, Eurtha Jackson, Cynthia Pittman, Johnnie Mason, Shenika Thomas, all of Memphis, Freda Hudson of Michigan City, Joyce Hall of Columbus; three sons, DeOndray Hudson, Edward Hudson, Gregory Hudson, all of Memphis; a sister, Louise Patterson of Lamar; 31 grandchildren and 68 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Eddie James Hudson, a brother, Curtis Venney and two grandchildren.
