Jerald "Jerry" Stephen Newsom, 69, of Hernando, died October 24, 2025, at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Services were held at noon on Oct. 29 at Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Byhalia. Burial was in Betts Cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves a son, Jason Perry Newsom (Melissa) of Coldwater, daughters, Jessica Newsom (John) of Parsons, Tenn., Rebecca Newsom Emerson (Michael); brothers, Gary Newsom of Coldwater, Cary Newsom of Marion, Ark.; sisters, Dianne Geeslin, Patty Pesce, Tamee McClure, all of Olive Branch, Rosanne Bondurant of NC, Mary Ann Yon of Byhalia; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sterling Newsom Jr. and Mary Lucille Shackelford.
