Jean Boyd Seymour, 76, died Dec. 2, 2016. She was a graduate of Rosenwald High School and received a B.S. in English from Mississippi Industrial College, where she was Miss M.I. College. She helped start Holly Springs’ first Head Start program. She taught English and history for more than 20 years and retired in 1995 from the Madison, Wisc., public schools.
Memorial services will be held at 12 noon on Dec. 30 at Martin Memorial Temple CME Church, 65 S. Parkway West, Memphis, Tenn. Burial was arranged by J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home in Cottrell Cemetery.
