James W. Jones, 78, of Byhalia, died Jan. 25, 2017, at Ashland Health and Rehab. He was a former carpentry worker.
Services were held at 12 noon on Feb. 1 at Mt. Zion Taska MB Church in Cayce, where he was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Cleotha Garrison officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves two children, Shirley Lancaster of Olive Branch, Jerry Jones of Byhalia; a brother, Cecil Jones of Memphis, Tenn.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Annie S. Washington of Byhalia.
He was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Washington,
