James Madison "Red Bud" Speaks Jr.

James Madison "Red Bud" Speaks Jr., 53, of Memphis, Tenn., died June 23, 2020, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. The widower of Carlisa Renay Dukes Speaks, he was a disabled truck driver with DHL Trucking Company.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on July 2 from 10:30 a.m.12:50 p.m. with graveside services at Smith Grove MB Church Cemetery, 1:30 p.m. Rev. Michael Gordon will officiate.

He leaves three daughters, Zippora Speaks, Jamia L. Speaks, Jasmone Speaks-Humphrey, all of Memphis; six sons, James Speaks III, Jaysean D. Speaks, Markie L. Dukes, Jaylon Smith, Deandre Boatwright, Dunterious Traylor, all of Memphis; his father, James Madison Speaks Sr. of Memphis; six sisters, Nicole M. Speaks, Ketsha Speaks Banks, Alicia Speaks Coleman, Renee Speaks, Abigail Speaks, Rhonda Speaks Griffin, all of Memphis; six brothers, Sean D. Speaks, James Rolliens, Chris Partee, Marcell Partee, Michael artee, Kareem Partee, Thurl Freeman, all of Memphis; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Eliza Greer Speaks.
