James Ferris DeBerry

James Ferris DeBerry, 85, of Holly Springs, died January 28, 2022, at Methodist Olive Branch Hospital. He was a member of Hopewell No. 1 MB Church where he served on the deacon board and was a former Sunday school superintendent. He was a self-employed brick mason.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 1 at Cottrell Memorial Garden. Bro. Jivaro Jones officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He leaves his daughters, Tonza DeBerry of Ridgeland, Sherna D. Jones, Ida Oliver, both of Holly Springs; sons, Conery DeBerry, Dale "Kieffer" DeBerry, Telsa DeBerry, all of Holly Springs; sisters, Elnora McKennley, Lee Etta Smith, both of Memphis, Tenn., Doris Waller of Holly Springs, Mary Beard of Potts Camp; brothers, Melvin DeBerry of Potts Camp, Roy Lee DeBerry Jr. of Oxford, Willie DeBerry of Irving, Texas, Andre DeBerry of Holly Springs, Ronald DeBerry of Memphis; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Alberta Griffin.
