James Edward Jones

James Edward Jones, 87, of Gary Indiana, formerly of Holly Springs, died July 20, 2024, at Methodist Hospital-Northlake Campus in Gary. He was a member of Love Thy Neighbor Baptist Church and a retired machine operator for US Steel in Gary.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Aug. 8 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. and on Aug. 9 at Mt. Moriah MB Church from 10-10:55 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He leaves a sister, Ruby Jones of Byhalia; brothers, Percy L. Jones of Rex, Ga., Eddie Lee Jones of Holly Springs, Uesther Jones of Ripley, Douglas Jones of Holly Springs and Emmit Jones of Byhalia.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Laurice Allen Jones; siblings, Almus Jones, Joe Andrew Jones, Aaron Jones, Lela Mae Johnson, and Minnie Mae White.
