James Ed Taylor

James Ed Taylor, 84, of Holly Springs, passed away at his home on March 24, 2024. He was born in Holly Springs on March 19, 1940, to Arthur G. Taylor and Maudie Lou Thompson Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a supervisor at Harts Manufacturing.

Mr. Taylor is survived by two sons, Ricky Taylor (Marsha), and Johnny Taylor, both of Holly Springs; and two daughters, Loretta Carpenter (Brad), and Karen Sexton (Dale), also both of Holly Springs. He also leaves a brother, Frank Taylor of Olive Branch; and a sister, Louise Wilson of Franklin, Tenn.; two sisters-in-law, Leona Allen and Bonnie Skelton; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Burch (Jonathan), Stephanie Nygaard, Christopher Carpenter (Wesleyann), Kayla Sexton (Elton), Taylor Sexton (Ryan), John Taylor, and Paige Jenkins (Brandon); and six great-grandchildren, Laila Clifton, Aubrey Nygaard, Alexander Nygaard, Molly Burch, McKenzie Thomas, and Weston Miller.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his wife, Ivy Jean Allen; and by a grandchild, Holly Clanton.

Services for Mr. Taylor will be held in the chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. A visitation for family and friends was held on Tuesday evening, March 26, at the funeral home from 5 until 8 p.m. Burial, following the funeral service will be in Clear Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chris Carpenter, Jonathan Burch, Elton Bray, Mike Allen, Glenn Skelton, Tommy Skelton, RL Isom, John Taylor, and Ryan Brown. Honorary will be Perry Allen.
