James Earl Cole

James Earl Cole, 65, of Ashland, died January 26, 2024, at Diversity Health Care in Ripley.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 4 at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Solid Rock Cemetery in Lamar.

He leaves his wife, Georgia Harris Cole; children, Cassandra Joy, Marco Joy, both of Michigan City; brothers, Charles Cole (Lovie) of Lamar, David Hampton, Jerry Hampton (Margaret), Sylvester Hampton (Angela), all of Ashland, Darrell Hampton of Ripley, Michael Hampton of Memphis, Tenn., Michael Perry, Stevie Perry, Lamerio Perry, Tamie Terrel Perry, all of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Teresa McKay of Lamar, Sarah Hudson of Ashland; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Bogard; sisters, Fannie Hampton, Brenda Hampton; brothers, William Cole, Eddie Wayne Hampton, and Erodney Perry.
