James Carl Crawford

James Carl Crawford, age 82, of Vinton, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Carl was born on March 11, 1937, in Ripley, Miss.

Carl was originally from Holly Springs, Miss., and lived in Vinton for over the past 20 years. His biggest passion was owning and training quarter horses for many years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Crawford; mother, Mary Faye Hurdle and husband, Percy; and two sisters, Pansy Meeks and Janice Barkley.

Survivors include two daughters, Paula Crawford Tindall of Vinton, and Gini Crawford of Beaumont, Texas; two grandchildren, Will Tindall and fiancée, Paige Holland of Coldwater, Miss., and Paige Whatley and husband, Jake of Iowa, La.; three great-grandchildren, Adalynn, Austin, and Weston Whatley; a sister, Jo Fleming of Holly Springs, Miss.; and a brother, Boyce Crawford of Lamar, Miss.

A gathering was held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019, at Hixson Funeral Home in Vinton, La.
