James Alvie "Big Jake" Swinford Sr.

James Alvie "Big Jake" Swinford Sr., 66, of Ashland, died April 26, 2019, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was a Pentecostal and a millworker.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on April 29 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Ashland Cemetery.
He leaves his wife, Laura Ann Swinford; two sons, Donnie West and James Alvie Swinford Jr. (Ladresha), both of Ashland; a brother, Richard Swinford of Walnut; three sisters, Linda Mauldin of Blue Mountain, Nita Hudson of Ashland, Kathy Coleman of Senatobia; and seven grandchildren.
