Jacqueline Poplar Hamilton

Jacqueline Poplar Hamilton, 56, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Michigan City and Atlanta, Ga., died Sept. 14, 2017, at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Disabled,  she was a former surgical tech at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, her church choir, was a Sunday school teacher and a graduate of Memphis State University.

Visitation will be held Sept. 24, from 1-1:55 p.m. at the church.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 24 at Hardaway MB Church in Michigan City, where she was a member. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery in Michigan City. Dr. Gerald Thomas Sr. will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She leaves her husband, Rodney K. Hamilton; a daughter, Jasmine Cymone Hampton of Memphis; her father, Phil Poplar of Michigan City; a stepdaughter, Adrienne T. Hamilton of Memphis; a stepson, Rodney K. Hamilton Jr. (Tamara) of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Doreen Poplar Mason (Lonnie) of Conyers, Ga., Pamela Renee Poplar of Atlanta, Ga.; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ernestine Richardson Poplar.
