Jackson Hudson Wittjen Sr.

Jackson Hudson Wittjen Sr., of both Holly Springs and his beloved Hudsonville community, died January 15, 2019. He was 88.

He was born August 8, 1930, in Holly Springs to Johannes Anton Wittjen and Mary Walker Hudson Wittjen. After graduation from the University of Mississippi where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, he served his country as a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force.

An entrepreneur of various interests and a farmer, he was a successful and accomplished gentleman of passion and drive. He was a father who loved his family, a hunter who loved his land, and a businessman who loved a good business deal.

He is survived by a son, Alexander Bradford Wittjen of Hudsonville, Miss.; daughters, Theresa Wittjen Quinn (Frank) of Memphis, Tenn., and Jane Wittjen Adams (James) of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Conley Hudson Adams (Diana), Jackson Henry Adams, William Harrell Adams and Sarah Townes Quinn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa `WeeTee' Totten Wittjen, and a son, Jackson Hudson Wittjen Jr.

Services were held Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Christ Episcopal Church in Holly Springs with a visitation at 1 p.m. in the Parish Hall and a service in the sanctuary at 2 p.m.. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery. The Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
