Irene Harris Brown

Irene Harris Brown, 85, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Ashland, died November 26, 2021, at her home. She was a member of New Greater Life MB Church in Memphis and a former member of Harris Chapel MB Church in Benton County where she served as an usher. She was a retired teacher's aide for Benton County Schools.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Dec. 3 from 3-6 p.m. and Dec. 4 at Greenwood MB Church in Lamar, 10-10:55 a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Rev. Thomas Stephenson will officiate. Burial will be in Harris Chapel MB Church Cemetery.

She leaves three sons, Bobbie Charles Brown of Indianapolis, Ind., Dannie Lee Brown, Rodney Ray Brown, both of Memphis; three daughters, Cathie Lee Powell, Dorothy Lee Moore, both of Memphis, Hazel Traylor of Michigan City; stepchildren, Lillie Norton, Carolyn Cochran, both of Ashland, Willie Davis of Memphis; 34 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren and 27 great-greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Arthur Brown; son, Chester Brown Jr.; siblings, Joe Arthur Harris, Herbert Harris Jr., Kenneth Arthur Harris, Eddie Harris, Oscar Lee Harris, Girthie Norwood, Mary Ellen Macklin, and Febbie Jane Harris.
