Ida B. Hughes-Porter

Ida B. Hughes-Porter, 87, of Holly Springs, died June 4, 2018, at Methodist Hospital in Germantown, Tenn. The widow of James Porter, she owned Della’s Outlet (cafe).

Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. on June 12 at Free Branch MB Church, where she was a member. Rev. Joe Lee Tunstall officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She leaves eight daughters, Mary Porter of Oxford, Shoney Moore-Porter, Lisa Alexander, both of Holly Springs, Della Mae Porter-Patterson of Champaign, Ill., Edna Faye Porter of Denver, Colo., Augustine Porter of Aurora, Colo., Helen Ann Mallory of Atlanta, Ga., Connie Faye Porter of Hempstead, N.Y., two sons, Terry Louis Porter of Rantoul, Ill., Henry Mallory Jr. of Springfield, Ill.; 33 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and special friends, Isaac Marion and John H. L acey Jr., both of Holly Springs.

She was preceded in death by a son, Rivers Lee Porter Jr., a sister, Marlean Smith and a brother, John Willie Hughes.
