Herman Ivy Jr.

Herman Ivy Jr., 69, of Bartlett, Tenn., formerly of Holly Springs, died Jan. 10, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett. He was a former chemist for the state of Tennessee. He was a Sunday School teacher, deacon and minister.

Visitation is 1-6 p.m. on Jan. 18 at the funeral home, and Jan. 19 from 12 noon to 12:55 p.m. at the church.

Services will be held at Christ Temple COGIC in Holly Springs, where he was a member. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Dr. Albert Pass will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He leaves a daughter, Shaquita Verge (Juanta) of Holly Springs; his mother, Juanita Oliver Ivy of Holly Springs; five sisters, Shirley Kinkle, Cynthinia Thompkins, Marilyn Curry, Tina Selman, all of Holly Springs, Naomi Ivy of Round Rock, Texas; five brothers, Cecil Ivy of Oakland, Calif., Carey Ivy of Huntsville, Ala., Sammy Ivy of Memphis, Tenn., Alfred Lynn Ivy of Holly Springs, Dwight Ivy of Batesville; and three grandchildren.
