Henry Franklin Tuggles

Henry Franklin Tugges, 90, of Holly Springs, died April 29, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. The widower of Mertilie Clark Tuggles, he was a member of Chulahoma M.B. Church and the Masonic Lodge. He was a self-employed, retired farmer.

Visitation will be held from 2-7 p.m. on May 5, at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home, and 10-10:55 a.m. on May 6, at Chulahoma M.B. Church,  with services at 11 a.m. Rev. Lonnie Whitfield will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.

He leaves six daughters, Dorothy Mae Jones and Carolyn Jean Tuggles of Aurora, Ill., Vera Louise Prentiss of Sugar Grove, Ill., Lucindy McNeal of Memphis, Lizzie Moore and Lisa Griffin of Holly Springs; 10 sons, Henry Lee Tuggles of Batavia, Ill., James Lee Tuggles, Felix Tuggles, Larry Tuggles, Harry Tuggles of Aurora, Louis Tuggles of Memphis, Nickey Tuggles and Kenneth Tuggles of Holly Springs, Joseph Lee Echols of Red Banks, and Walter Griffin of Holly Springs; a sister, Annie Mae Jones of Indianapolis, Ind.; a brother, James Tuggles of Holly Springs: and 52 grandchildren, 87 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph Lee Tuggles and Darnell Echols.
