Grayland "Yank Yank" Cox

Grayland "Yank Yank" Cox, 62, of Holly Springs, died Mar. 3, 2020, at Merit Health Central in Jackson. He was a member of Chulahoma MB Church, played on the Mad Dog baseball team, and attended Byhalia High School. He was a former factory worker with Southern Fab Inc. in Memphis, Tenn.

Visitation will be held at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home on Mar. 13 from 2-7 p.m., with the family from 6-7 p.m.; and Mar. 14 at Chulahoma MB Church from 10-10:55 a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Servant Marvin Lucas Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He leaves two daughters, Erica Cox of Holly Springs, Tarnesha Young of Olive Branch; one son, Eric Cox of Olive Branch; step-daughter, Shantina Shaw of Holly Springs; three sisters, Bertha Alexander of Holly Springs, Loice Nelson and Leaser English, both of Memphis; eight brothers, Lawrence Cox of Peoria, Ill., Robert Cox and Levi Cox, both of Holly Springs, Wilkie B. Cox of Petersburg, Va., Sylvester Liggins of Ga., Jack Liggins of St. Louis, Mo., Larry Freeman of Texas, Lee Freeman of Memphis; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Lester Jean Martin, Joyce Freeman, Ira Seal Cox, Kenny Wayne Cox, and David Earl Cox.
