George Wilder Lax, 77, of Byhalia, died May 4, 2026, at his home. He was a member of CrossPointe Church where he served as a deacon. He worked for LP Brown.
No services are scheduled. Serenity Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Beverly Lax; sons, Drew Echols of Cordova, Tenn., William Lax (Michelle) of Holly Springs, Brian Echols (Sabrina) of Hernando; brother, Gene Lax (Phyllis) of Middleton, Tenn.; sister, Mildred Webb of Millington, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Smith.
